Dainty. Petals pink. Calyx green, tinged light pink also. Everything about this species is smaller and more delicate than the other Pitcher Plant species.

Sarracenia rubra tends to be more clumping than S. purpurea or S. flava.  The result of having so many growing points along the rhizome is a huge bouquet of flower in the Spring on one plant.

This species is seldom seen in commercial production, though it is well suited to be used as a houseplant.  The short plant height, usually less than a foot, makes them easy to water and care for.
